Jensen Ford races into Mountain Moonshine Classic finale at Smoky Mountain Speedway
With a quick turnaround from his Eldora trip, Jensen Ford welcomed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to his home state of Tennessee for the Mountain Moonshine Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.).
With 42 Late Models checked in for the $10,000-to-win opener, Ford got behind in qualifying before making up three spots in his heat race. Needing to place Top-3 in his last chance qualifier, Jensen faded back to finish eighth.
Finding more speed on Saturday night, Jensen qualified eighth-quickest in his group and picked up the final transfer position in his heat race. In the $50,000-to-win main event, Ford was an early retiree on lap 31.
